Join Sunrise Orchards in Supporting the Badger Honor Flight on Veterans Day November 11, 2023

Sunrise Orchards is hosting a special fundraising event on Veterans Day, Saturday, November 11, 2023, in support of the Badger Honor Flight. For each half bushel box of number 2 grade apples sold on that day, Sunrise will donate $10.00 to the Badger Honor Flight organization.

Badger Honor Flight is a regional affiliate of the national Honor Flight Network. The Honor Flight Network's mission is to ensure that World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, and terminally ill Veterans from any war can visit the memorials that have been erected in their honor. One of our own, Allen Teach, President and third-generation apple grower at Sunrise Orchards, recently had the privilege of serving as a volunteer guardian on a Badger Honor Flight, where he accompanied a local Vietnam veteran. Through this experience, Allen was deeply moved by the genuine goodness and appreciation shown towards our veterans.

Allen said, "Each flight costs about $110,000, and I can think of no better way to honor our veterans than by contributing to this extraordinary experience. The highlight of the trip was witnessing the heartwarming airport welcome home celebration, where hundreds of people gathered to greet the veterans."

In addition to Sunrise Orchards’ Honor Flight contribution, Sunrise is extending their gratitude to all Veterans and active duty military by offering two specials from Friday, November 10 through Sunday, November 12. All Veterans and active duty military will receive 20% off their entire purchase and a free half dozen plain or sugared donuts as a token of our appreciation.
